Built-in data sources and feed health

The source types you can connect, and how feeds report ingestion problems.

When you create a feed you choose a source type. The built-in sources:

SourceWhat it ingests
RSSAn RSS/Atom feed URL β†’ rows of Title, Description, Image and Date.
ScreenshotRenders a web page to an image on a schedule, with checks for errors and blank screens.
WeatherLocation-based weather data (search a location, set units and refresh interval).
Custom feedThe generic HTTP pull/push source β€” any JSON or XML source mapped to your columns.
IFTTTA push endpoint for IFTTT-style automations to send rows in.
EB POSA point-of-sale integration β€” sync its products as a feed or catalogue.
Stock imagesPixabay, Unsplash and Pexels β€” used via Drive's "Search PixaBay" importer.

Feed health

  • Last ingest / last pull timestamps appear on the Source sub-tabs.
  • Errors β€” the most recent ingestion errors are listed (with dates) on the Pull sub-tab and summarised on Settings.
  • Ingestion retries on a bounded schedule rather than hanging, and a malformed source is guarded so the feed reports an error instead of breaking.

The feed's data is what every consumer reads β€” bind it to a layout in the design editor, or filter it into a Product List.
