Product lists and product catalogs

The Products area is the everyday place to manage what's for sale. Catalogs hold the master data; lists curate what shows on screen.

The Products area is a focused, catalogue-oriented view of your product data β€” the everyday surface for shop staff to manage what's for sale, separate from the more technical Drive and Feeds views. Underneath, it edits the same product data that lives in Drive.

Two kinds of product data

The page opens on two tabs:

Products, Product Lists tab
  • Product Lists β€” curated, ordered views of products (for example "Lunch menu", "Starters", "Desserts"). A list is what you actually put on screen, and it can pull its products from one or more catalogs.
  • Product Catalogs β€” the master databases: the full set of products with their columns and fields.
Products, Product Catalogs tab

Each tab is a reorderable list (drag the handle to set the display order, which saves immediately). A search button opens a cross-product search to jump straight to a product β€” and to move a product between catalogs/lists.

Products added to a list from a catalog stay linked to the master, so catalog edits flow through automatically β€” unless a specific field has been locked on the list (see "Editing products").
