What a product editor can and cannot do

The scope of the cut-down product-editor experience.

Last updated About 5 hours ago

Signed in, a product editor can:

  • Browse the product lists and catalogs they're permitted to.
  • Edit product rows inline β€” names, descriptions, prices, stock.
  • Swap product images and videos via the Drive media picker on media cells.
  • Add a product (with Add-products) and delete or unlink one (with the matching permissions).
  • Apply row-style presets where configured β€” a quick way to restyle a row without touching the design.

Saving is immediate with success confirmations, exactly as in the full Products area.

The reduced interface

Their account menu shows only Profile and Sign out β€” no account switching or view toggles β€” and there is no route to Displays, Playlists, Drive, Designs or Settings.

Boundaries

  • Cannot manage displays, playlists, schedules or the design editor.
  • Cannot reach Account Settings, team management or billing.
  • Cannot browse the full Drive β€” only the product data they're scoped to.
  • Cannot switch to other accounts or partner/organisation contexts.
  • Without the specific product permissions, even add, remove and unlink are individually blocked.
